Poohmafella Records, in conjunction with a modest amount of Local and Major label artist. From ghostwriting in the majors to producing full cd/dvd projects for the enjoyment of our fans and supporters nationwide!

At Poohmafella Records, we approach the talent that we have an interest in completing a project with, but very few actually get approached. You may have a certain sound that is attractive momentarily, but if your overall package is not one that we want full affiliation with, we can listen to your music, purchase your cd, but NOT desire a business relationship with you. This is the issue with many Spoken Word Artist. Because we love your sound, it doesnt mean we want to finance and produce your next or current projects. With the Hip Hop artist; we can embrace some of your songs, but you being talented and popular is not enough for Poohmafella Records  to join forces with you. We wish everyone the best, but that may not be in conjunction with any of our companies. Loyalty, Ethics and 200% commitment are the key to the relationships formed here. Talent is a given for anyone and almost anyone can gain popularity, so it takes clean, sober acts, not extremely tattooed, not dependent on any illegal paraphanalia, not one for bringing public disgrace and ridicule to our company. It takes Character and maturity to join the Poohmafella Records family.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q. If I am Signed, is everything done for me?

A. NO. Our artist are partners and they are responsible for 50% of their sucess and exposure.

This means we are advacning finances to an artist on the basis of their success, which should already by apparent, but each artist is responsible for their own grassroots campaign to capture their fan base.

We may suggest a few sites, but its solely on the artist to keep their image alive and out there with their fans.

Q. Will the label pay for trips that are not beneficial  to the label?

A. Not at all. Thats why we will not work with affiliates in the future because we are working under two agendas and that conflict is a problem.

Q. Do I Make all decisions for my cd and career?

A. Decisions are a joint effort between the label and the artist. Its foolish to argue with the label over something we are passionate about and repercussions will be apparent in circumstances like this.

Q. I have my own ideas, so why ask the label.

A. We believe that if your ideas were great on their own, you never would have signed with us. Therefore, an artist needs to be open to our ideas and we will be open to theirs, but if an artist only entertains whats being suggested and inevitably seeks to do their own thing, that leaves a very dim view on such an artist.

Q. Interviews, gigs, appearances: Who handles this?

A. The label's management team will assist in these things, however an artist can assist in their interviews,because the artist should have some connections already.  When it comes to issues of money, the label should be the only one negotiating, because an artist is taking a chance on ruining a fan base by trying to be the artist and also talk business around their manager.
